Nunawading sits around the corner of Whitehorse and Springvale Roads, about 18 km east of the CBD, mostly in the City of Whitehorse with a small part in Manningham. Brick and clay works started here in the 1870s, and after the Second World War house blocks replaced the orchards. That post-war boom set the pattern any electrician in Nunawading works with today.
At the 2021 census, 69% of homes were separate houses and 28% were townhouses or semis. Flats were just 3%.
Houses from the post-war boom were wired for a far smaller load than a modern family puts on them. If yours still has its original board, it's worth checking that every power and lighting circuit has RCD protection and that the main switch can handle what you now run.
Many of these houses have gained rooms over the years, such as a rumpus, a rear family room or a converted garage. An addition can end up wired off the nearest existing circuit, so it's worth checking it isn't overloading one breaker.
We test first and give you a straight answer. Sometimes a board upgrade is all that's needed; sometimes a few old circuits need replacing as well. Either way, the price is fixed before work begins.
How it works
No back-and-forth, no chasing quotes, no cowboy pricing. Enquire today, get a clear fixed price fast, and we'll have a licensed sparky on site, often within the same week.

Quick call, message or online form, takes two minutes. Tell us the job (or the problem) and we'll be straight back to you.
We inspect, then hand you one clear all-in price up front. What we quote is what you pay, zero surprise line items.
A licensed A-Grade electrician does the work to AS/NZS 3000, tests every circuit and leaves your place cleaner than they found it.
Whitehorse Road through Nunawading is Melbourne's biggest bulky-goods strip, the MegaMile, with electrical and hardware retailers along it. A new oven, cooktop or rangehood often needs more than plugging in: hardwired ovens and induction cooktops need a suitable dedicated circuit, and some need heavier cable than the old appliance had.
Send us the model before delivery day and we'll confirm what the install needs, so the appliance isn't sitting in its box waiting for an electrician.
More than a quarter of Nunawading homes are townhouses or semis. If you're adding an EV charger to one, the garage location and the distance back to the switchboard decide most of the work.
We size the cable for the run, fit dedicated protection and commission the charger with your car.
